Take a visual journey with me. I travel to beautiful places, paint plein air (on location) studies, bring them back into the studio to create larger works, and share the beauty of those moments through my art. Send me an e-mail if you would like a preview of new paintings at maryericksonart@aol.com. I look forward to hearing from you, or seeing you at one of the events listed below.

August 2018
AFC SILENT SKIES MURAL PROJECT LAUNCH

Silent Skies is an international collaborative super-mural mosaic featuring all 678 endangered species of birds of the world. The installation will be the artistic centerpiece of the 27th International Ornithological Congress, prominently displayed in Vancouver's magnificent waterfront Convention Centre - the focal point of the 2010 Olympic Games and next to the cruise terminal.

Beginning in late August 2018, the original artwork will be available for sale by silent auction and a limited number of canvas reproductions of each will also be produced to allow for potentially multiple installations around the world. Revenues will will benefit bird conservation and environmental education. As it is completed, artwork will be posted online. Each painting will measure 8" x 8."

Mary's contribution will be these endangered birds:
Cerulean Paradise-flycatcher, Rueck's Blue-Flycatcher and Lompobatang Flycatcher

Stolen Painting ALERT!
This original oil painting on canvas was stolen from the Boston, MA distribution center of BAX GLOBAL
(now DB Schenker) on August 8, 2008 on its way to Sheldon Fine Art in Newport, Rhode Island. Because of inconsistencies in their story, we suspect an employee of the shipping company was involved, and that the painting is in the Boston area.
